It all began with two friends visiting Kenya and learning about the challenges of life for Kenyan women. This led us to begin ASILI to benefit the next generations by selling the beautiful handmade artefacts made by the hard working Kenyan women.
We have handpicked our suppliers with the knowledge it directly benefits the artisans families. These artisans are able to provide a better future for the next generations through education that is funded from the goods you buy from ASILI.
The leather is from mature cattle/sheep, whilst the brass buckles are recycled and hand cast. The designs originate from the Masai tribe depicting seasons, flora, fauna, animals, etc.
Each artisan works on their own from the comfort of their homes. This gives them the ability to look after their families in tandem to earning a living.
